Tonight's post will be a quickie since I have a total of six articles to write, but I had to take the time to make a short announcement for all you Last Comic Standing fans. As you may already know, I write about reality TV for Teevieo. If you've been reading my work there, then keep visiting and watching for my upcoming interview with Josh Blue. His publicist contacted me today and I e-mailed her the questions I had for Josh. So as soon as I receive his answers, I'll be posting my interview with Josh Blue at Teevieo. I must say, it's an honor to have the chance to interview Josh! I watched him on Last Comic Standing Season 4 and cheered him on from my living room. That was the one time my votes paid off. Josh was very entertaining to watch, and I can't wait to see his answers to my questions. Maybe one day soon he'll visit Southern Illinois and I can get a face-to-face interview.
It's back to writing for me. I'll blog again soon.
I'm happy to report that after two months of searching writing job boards, blogs and forums, I've finally landed a blog writing job! Last night I sent a short e-mail detailing my experience and included links to a couple of my clips, which, of course, related to the blog writing job I responded to. Then within a few hours after sending my e-mail, the client contacted me. I was ecstatic, but what made my night was the fact the he told me my writing was "impressive!" Needlesstosay, the two of us agreed on a reasonable rate and the client hired me to write blog posts about reality TV for his Teevieo blog. In fact, I just finished my first blog post for him and would like to invite you to check it out. Hooray! Big Brother 8 has arrived. As many of you may already know, I'm a big reality TV fan, but one of my all time favorite reality TV shows is Big Brother. I anxiously wait for this show every year, and when it arrives, I jump up and down shouting with excitement. In case you can't tune in for some reason, I will be writing recaps of Big Brother 8 for Associated Content. I just finished submitting the first recap today, so as soon as it's published I'll post the link to it on my Myspace blog for you to read. You're also welcome to read my Big Brother 8 recaps even if you did get to see the show; some like to relive what they just watched. My recaps will include screenshots as well.
Last year I watched the live feeds, however, I promised myself I wouldn't watching them this year. When I watched last year, I have to admit I didn't get much writing done. I tell ya, those Big Brother 8 live feeds are VERY addictive. I never would have thought I could get addicted to watching people live in a house and sleep, but when I first started watching the live feeds, I surprised myself at how quick I became addicted. With that said, this year I'm forcing myself not to go to the site and subscribe, but I'm not sure how much longer I can hold out. Blogging about it is making me want to surf on over right now. No, I can't. I told myself I wouldn't. Of course, if I do break the promise to myself, I guess I could write some recaps of the live feeds. Hmmm, interesting. Okay, I need to stop this and move on to blogging about something other than the Big Brother 8 live feeds. Don't be surprised though if next time I blog, you read that I broke the promise and have been watching the Big Brother 8 live feeds.
Since Big Brother 8 just started, I've not decided who my favorite houseguests are this year. I do like Daniele. She seems sweet, but we'll see if her personality continues to win me over. As for her father, Dick, I'm not quite sure what to think about him yet. So far, I think he has some skeletons hid in his closet that hasn't come out yet, and those skeletons may be the reason Daniele rejects him. Do you remember Howie from last year? Well, I'm not certain yet, but I think Dick may be just as much of a flirt as Howie was. Do you have a favorite houseguest yet? What do you think of Dick? Let me know by commenting.
I'll go now as I have a few more articles to edit then submit, and these articles have been setting in my documents folder for about three days now. Yep, I'll definitely be looking at those with a fresh set of eyes. :)

American Idol - Top 7

Tonight I tuned into one of my favorite Reality TV shows, American Idol. I've enjoyed this show since it first aired on TV. It's so nice to see television help talented people get the recognition they deserve! If it weren't for American Idol, some of these talented folks may have gone unnoticed for a long time. My favorites this year are Melinda Doolittle, LaKisa Jones and Blake Lewis. It wouldn't surprise me if they make the final three. It also won't surprise me if Melinda wins the whole thing. Melinda may seem shy, but she has a voice to die for! I applaud FOX on their efforts to help so many talented people get the recognition they so deserve.

Now, only if they could come up with a reality TV show to help us writers get noticed. ;) Of course, I understand the shows have to be entertaining to keep the ratings, and I expect there's not a whole lot you can do with writers to make a reality show about them interesting. However, I do have a few ideas that may or may not work. On The Apprentice, they make it interesting by giving the applicants tasks to perform. So, what if they created a reality TV show for writers that also assigned tasks, but the tasks could be writing tasks. They could air us working on our tasks (brainstorming, researching, etc.), and then, they could post our completed writing tasks on the Internet for America to read, review and vote on the ones they like best. The writer with the lowest votes leaves, and in the end, just like American Idol, the writer who receives the most votes and lasts throughout the entire show is the winner. I'm just throwing ideas out there. Besides, who knows, maybe someone out there in the television industry will consider it. And if that happens to be you, I'll be your first contestant. :) Deal?
