Get Paid to Write in Your Blog

August 30, 2006 1 comments

Thanks to another blogger I just found out about Blogsvertise. Blogsvertise pays bloggers to write about Web sites in their blogs. When writing about these Web sites you can visit them and write a review or anything you like. The other requirement is you have to place at least three links to the Web site on your blog.

I've applied and hopefully will be approved. I figure since I love to blog anyway why not get paid for it -- I could use the extra money. Besides, I'm always up for visiting Web sites -- you never know, I just may find something I could use.

Other than getting paid to link to Web sites in your blog, Blogsvertise also allows you to buy advertising. Getting several blogs to link to your Web site could work out to your advantage, and best of all, you don't pay for blogs that don't link to you.

To find out more about getting paid to write in your blog, and also about a wonderful way to draw traffic to your Web site, visit Blogsvertise today!

Now that I've shared an opportunity with you I'm going to get back to my writing life. I'll blog again soon!

House Hunting

August 29, 2006 0 comments

Just in case your wondering, other than working my hubby and I have been house hunting. We've decided to get a double wide instead of remodel. After pricing the materials to remodel the prices run about the same, and since the remodeling process would take a long time we've decided to go with a double wide instead.

Currently we live in a half underground basement home, and after over three years of living here we've had numorous problems -- flooding, leaky roof, etc. Not to mention the dampness, mildew and etc. from living in a basement (all this stuff is not good on my asthma either). So, based on the cost of materials to remodel, the problems a basement encounters, and the stuff that's not good on my asthma, we've decided to turn our basement into a garage, and it will also serve as a safe place to go in case of a bad storm.

In the past two months we have seen over a dozen double wides, and believe it or not I still like the second one we looked at. I now take the floor plan of the home I like with me to each lot, and once there I show the plan to the sales person and ask him if they have anything similar. If they do, my next step is to mention the price of the current plan and try to get him to beat it. I figure if they want to make a sale bad enough they'll bargain. I'm learning a lot by shopping, and I'll be sure to keep you informed. As a matter of fact, I'll pass along home shopping tips as we continue on with our shopping adventure.

Right now we're putting things on hold until fall, because during the summer months these homes are so dang hot inside from being shut-up that I feel sick after we've finished. During the fall and winter we've decided it won't be so hot inside the homes, and we'll continue our shopping then.

Some of My Recently Published Articles

August 23, 2006 0 comments

Good morning friends! I have been writing my rear off lately, but I'm taking a short break now to share some of my recently published articles with you. Who knows, there may be an article or two you may find helpful. By the way, if you do find one of my articles helpful post your comment and let me know; there's a place to post comments at the end of each article. As I've said many times, I enjoy hearing your feedback. Your feedback makes the time I put into my writing worth it, plus it makes me smile and lifts me up when I'm down. Yeap, writers have down moments too.

Do you have a teething baby? "Relieve Baby's Discomfort and Yours" may just be what you're looking for.

Are you planning a visit to my home state (Southern Illinois)? Well then, I'm sure you'll be looking for things to do, places to visit and even a place to eat. "Make Your Visit to Southeast Illinois Pleasurable" will help you with all those things! By the way, if you do come to my neck of the woods and decide you'd like to meet me, then drop me a quick e-mail and I can arrange to meet you at a restaurant nearby -- I'll even autograph your book for you if you bring it along too.

Planning a romantic getaway with your honey bunch? "Discover Romance is the Smokies" may be the answer.

Are you looking to purchase individual dental insurance? My "Buyers Guide to Individual Dental Insurance" will help you choose a plan that's right for you.

Are you a writer too? "Research Before Submission: How to Avoid the Publishing Scams" will give you some tips on what to look for before choosing a publisher, agent, editor or etc.

Finally, find out how you can get your writing organized by reading "Ways to Keep Your Writing Organized."

See, I told you I've been a busy little bee :) Don't worry, I'll be back to blog again soon, and who knows, maybe I'll have some more articles to share with you. Until then, take care of yourself!

School is Back in Session

August 17, 2006 0 comments

School is back in session and the pile of work on my desk is decreasing! Speaking of school, it's amazing how much information we can't remember after we've been out of school for so long. Plus, school has changed over the years. I bring this up because the other night my husband, my children, and I were all sitting in the living room waiting for "Big Brother" to come on. "King of the Hill" and "The Simpsons" was a re-run so we weren't paying much attention.

As we sat waiting for "Big Brother," we struck up a conversation on states and their capitals. My daughter is 13, and she's already had to memorize all the states and capitals for school, however, my boys are in the fourth grade, and according to my daughter, they will have to know these next year.

Our conversation turned into a learning session. (I guess you could say we were giving the boys a head start on their states and capitals.) My husband would name a state and whoever knew the capital of that state shouted it out. Well, guess who failed this learning session? Yeap, me. I only knew the capital of three states, and for the life of me I couldn't remember any others. However, when one of the others shouted the correct answer I smacked myself in the forehead and said, "Duh." I remembered the capitals once they were said. Needless to say, I felt dumb at that moment, but I really felt dumb when my 13-year-old daughter knew more than me.

Yeap, I'll tell ya the three states I knew the capital of... Illinois was the first one I knew, and I knew it because it is my home state. The capital of Illinois is Springfield. And the other two states I knew the capital of were Kentucky (Frankfort) and North Carolina (Raleigh). Go ahead, see what you remember without looking them up. What states in the United States do you remember the capitals of? I'll bet even you remember more than I did. Have fun!

Ideas Form in Weird Places

August 9, 2006 0 comments

All writers have ideas pop into their heads all the time, and tonight I not only had ideas pop into my head, but I had an idea come to me in the weirdest place. While sitting on the toliet an idea came to me, can you believe that? I guess it can happen, and I may not be the only writer to have an idea come to me while sitting on the stool, but I could be the only one to admit it. Now that I think about it though it may not be too weird. After all, there's nothing to do when you're sitting in a quite room and can't get up. Well, unless you're like my husband and grab a magazine to take with you when you know you'll be in there a while... LOL... Of course I'll admit I've grabbed a magazine a few times too, but there's also times when you get in there to do one thing and end up having to do another, so what better then to let the creative juices flow while you're starring at the walls :)

Yes, I know, this is a very odd subject and I'll not bore you any longer, but I just had to share it. I don't know why, I just had to.

I'll let you go now, more work to do, but I'll be back again, and I'll do my best not to discuss such weird topics.

Long Time No Blog, But I'm Back Now

August 8, 2006 1 comments

Well, it's been two months since I've posted in my blog, and I must be honest... I have been very, very, very busy. Not only have I been trying to get some writing done, but I've been busy with kids too. I tell ya, I'll be so glad when school starts back up. I love my kids to death, but in order to get more done I need a little break and school solves that problem. I usually write and night when everyone is sleeping, but with school out two of my kids have decided to set up with Mom, and not only do they set up but they're loud too. When they are quite I spend my time trying to get some writing done. Oh well, kids will be kids. Besides, it's not all them either, I do give up some stuff during the summer to take them fishing, shopping, camping and etc. After all, my kids come first.

Since school will be starting again in a week I will get back to blogging and writing more. If you've been missing me then keep checking back, because I promise I will blog again.

I've got to go do some more writing now. I've also been stuck watching Big Brother's live feeds, and now that I've pulled myself away I need to get some work done. Yeap, BB's live feeds is another downfall to my getting behind ;) If you watch BB's live feeds -- or have ever watched -- then you know exactly what I'm talking about. They say before you click to watch that it is addictive, and boy are they ever right! Warning to all: If you want to get anything done don't subscribe to BB's live feeds :)

Until next time friends -- and it won't be so long this time -- take care and visit again soon!
